WHY VIDEO GAMES and BEER?
VIDEO GAMES – I’ve been playing video games since I was four, when my dad bought a Game Gear. I’ve been hooked ever since and spent much of youth playing video games.
I became that kid that people went to when they couldn’t get past a level or they had a demo for a game they had no idea how to play (I’m looking at you REZ and GITAROOMAN).
BEER – When it comes to beer, I’m the marketing manager for We Are Beer, the team behind some of the UK’s best craft beer festivals including BRISTOL, MANCHESTER & LONDON CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL.
I, like most people many years ago, had my taste buds awoken when trying my first US-style hoppy beer.
Since then, and realising there was more to beer than lager, I did the craft beer drinker life cycle or trying juicy beers, sours, stouts, wild fermentation beers, till I (ironically) have gone back to lager.
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS PODCAST?
This is a passion project of mine bringing back that spark I have for video games and beer. Hearing people talk passionately about the beers and games they love is infectious and makes me want to try the beers and play the games they pick instantly and hopefully, you’ll feel the same way too.
I also want to do some good with this podcast, which is why this podcast is a non-for-profit of sorts, in the sense that 50% of donations and sponsorship go towards mental health charities, with the rest invested back into the podcast.
We raised over £500 during season 1, with 100% OF DONATIONS going to the Disaster Emergency Committee to help the people of Ukraine.
